Sink
A mother refuses to accept her son’s declining mental health. She clings to the belief that all he needs is direction in life, even as the warning signs continue to multiply.
Sink is an intense drama about a middle-class family in Jordan. The mother, Nadia, does all she can to hold the family together as her son’s mental health deteriorates. At the heart of the film is the question: Can love alone function as treatment? Director Zain Duraie delivers an impressive feature debut with a confident audiovisual style that powerfully portrays the consequences of mental illness for an entire family.
