Do You Love Me
DO YOU LOVE ME, intertwines past and present through 70 years of Lebanon’s audiovisual memory, offering a sensitive reflection on the country’s present.
This documentary is a playful portrait of Lebanon, assembled entirely from archival footage. In doing so, the film becomes a love letter to the country’s capital, Beirut, and spans 70 years of film, television, home video, and photography. It explores Lebanon’s collective memory, revealing both its joys and its sorrows. Through the eyes of private individuals, filmmakers, and artists, a fragmented history is reconstructed – of a country without a national archive. A tribute to creative expression as a form of resistance, and to new ways of preserving memory.
The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2025.
