Festival opening

This year's festival kicks off with the opening film Casablanca Beats by Nabil Ayouch. The film was Morocco's Oscar submission, and is an energetic portrayal of a group of teenagers from Sidi Moumen, a suburb of Casablanca that is plagued by radicalism, unemployment and lack of hope for the future.

The festival opening takes place on March 16th at 17.30 in Vika 1. From this point on, festival films will be shown at Vika kino throughout the evening, and after the screening of Casablanca Beats we invite you to enjoy delicious Moroccan food and drinks, courtesy of the Moroccan Embassy in Oslo, in the basement lobby of Vika kino. 

Nabil Ayouch was scheduled to appear at the opening, but has unfortunately been prevented to attend due to illness.

The opening is done in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Oslo.
