Rashid, The Boy From Sinjar
Rashid survived several years in ISIS prisons. As a teenager, he dreams of a better future, but peace is fragile, and the hate against the Kurdish people is resurfacing.
After years in prison, Rashid is reunited with his family in Sinjar, in northwestern Iraq. The young Yazidi dreams of a better future in a country gradually rebuilding itself. But peace in Sinjar is fragile, and hatred toward the Yazidis is on the rise. On the threshold of adulthood, Rashid must rediscover himself amid constant changes shaping everyday life, and he is forced to decide whether to leave the country or stay.
The film premiered at the prestigious documentary film festival, IDFA.
