Watch the acclaimed documentary The Dissident at Arab Film Days

This shocking and critically acclaimed documentary sheds light on the murder of the Saudi Arabian journalist and activist Jamal Khashoggi.

On October 2. 2018 the Saudi Arabian Washington Post journalist and activist Jamal Khashoggi went into his own country's consulate in Istanbul, to get a document signed that got him the permission to marry his Turkish fiancé Hautice Cengiz. But he never came back. Instead he was brutally murderer and parted by what allegedly was a liquidation team sent by the Saudi Arabian prince Muhammad bin Salman.

It sounds like an action thriller you'll find on Netflix, but Academy Award winner Bryan Fogel's (Icarus, 2017) documentary is an eerie and detailed account of the brutally real murder of a troublesome regime critic. Netflix has recently stated that they won't screen the film because of its explosive theme.

Through a variety of sources, Fogel unravels a conspiracy on a scale that is hard to fathom, involving one of the rising political stars of the Arab world. The sources include Oslo-based activist Lyal-el Baghdadi, who lives in hiding in Norway for fear of reprisals. This is a shocking, truly explosive story.
