Opening film: Clash
The opening film of Arab Film Days this year will be Mohamed Diab's latest film: Clash!
Clash is a thrilling political drama set in Cairo during the violent demonstrations leading to the removal of president Mursi, the leader for the Muslim Brotherhood, from office in 2013.
We are also happy to announce that the director, Mohamed Diab, will be attending our festival!
Diab will be present during the opening ceremony, March 30th 18.00, to talk about his work. You can buy tickets to the opening film here.

Mohamed Diab is also known for his movie Cairo 678, a film we screened during the Films From the South-festival in 2015. Cairo 678 got a lot of attention, and won the award for best actress during Dubai International Film Festival in 2010.
We have decided to screen 678 Cario on Saturday April 1th, in conjunction with Diab's visit. The director will be present and talk about the film after the screening. You can buy tickets to this screening here.
About the film:
Clash is set in Cairo during the violent demonstrations leading to the removal of president Mursi of the Muslim Brotherhood, from office in 2013. The film is primarily set inside a police wagon, which gives it an intensely claustrophobic feel. The wagon is mistakenly filled with demonstrators from each side of the conflict. Fantastic camera work, brilliant acting and a topical subject matter makes Clash a thrilling political drama.
