The Hollywood Reporter
”How do you make children?” the humorless teacher asks the girls in the class. The answer is just as incomprehensible as it is scary. Hibba and her little sister traumatize about it for a long time. This is how the director Assad Fouladkar introduces this film about sex sanctions under Islamic law. One of the characters is Awatef, who is the mother of Hibba and her sister. She struggles with an overeager husband in bed and he suggests finding one more wife. It is the glamorous Loubna that is finally divorced who considers a temporarily marriage with the handsome greengrocer. The jealousy of the husband grows rapidly and leads in wrong directions. The story takes place in the beloved city Beirut, and the film gives a witty insight of the people who live there and the challenges that follows with halal love in Libanon.
After the screenings Thursday 14th April at 9 pm and Saturday 16th April at 8.30 pm, there will be a conversation with director Assad Foulhadhkar.
