Iraqi Odyssey

An epic family chronicle that track the last hundred years of Iraq’s history. This monumental two and a half hour documentary is based on director Samir´s own family history. Through an impressive collection of unique archive material and engaging interviews with Samir´s relatives, the film tells the story of a country marked by the struggle against British colonialism, followed by shattered hopes of democratic development and the American invasion. By focusing on one family, the movie emphasis how the great geopolitical upheavals affect the Iraqi people´s everyday life.
