Panel | What will the new Syria look like?
After the screening of MY MEMORY IS FULL OF GHOSTS on Tuesday, April 3, we invite you to a panel conversation on the situation in Syria: Will the country be able to survive as a stable state that respects minority rights?
The conversation will be in Norwegian.
Through the residents of the Syrian city of Homs, the documentary MY MEMORY IS FULL OF GHOSTS reflects on the city's and the country's past, present, and future.
The documentary explores the traumas that residents carry with them after the Syrian civil war and poses the question: Is it possible to reconnect with a hometown marked by so much pain and suffering?
In December, the Assad regime fell, and there is great tension surrounding the transition period the country is now facing – and what the «new» Syria will look like.
Panel:
- Pernille Solheim, Journalist in Klassekampen
- Andam Aziz, Leader of the Kurdish Democratic Community Center
- The conversation is moderated by Sylo Taraku, Advisor in Tankesmien Agenda.
The event is a collaboration between the Tankesmien Agenda and the Arab Film Days festival.
