THE TIME THAT REMAINS will be screened on Wednesday, March 6th.

In March we will screen Palestinian filmmaker Elia Suleiman’s semi-biographical satire from 2009, The Time That Remains. The film depicts the time from the establishment of the state of Israel from 1948 up until today, and follows Suleiman’s family. The story is inspired by his father’s private diaries, from the time when he fought in the resistance forces i 1948, and his mother’s letters to family members forced to leave the country. Elia Suleiman is one of the most internationally acclaimed directors from Palestine.

In April, one of the favorites from Arab Film Days in 2023, The Blue Caftan, directed by Maryam Touzani, will be screened. The film follows a tailor, his wife, and his young apprentice who confront each other in a warm and gripping chamber piece. Central to the story is a striking caftan, made of blue silk and warmth.
