THE FESTIVAL PROGRAM IS OFFICIAL

A great diversity of films characterizes this year's festival edition

It is with great pleasure that we can present the entire program for Arab Film Days to our audience. We are proud to show a great diversity of films from and about the Arab world at Vika kino, the National Museum, Deichman Bjørvika, and Juret in Oslo.

Of the 24 films on the program, only three of the titles will be seen in cinemas in Norway later this year, in other words, this is a unique opportunity to catch a multitude of films that would otherwise not be available on the big screen.

Get ready for everything from poignantly beautiful and deeply moving to delightfully laugh-out-loud stories that hit the heart. The stage is also set for exciting events and interesting conversations with international guests throughout the festival days

«What I am most proud of is the scope of this year's program,» says festival manager Per Eirik Gilsvik. «On this year's program, there is something for everyone. You can watch everything from feminist period drama from Algeria to adrenaline-filled action about radicalization in Syria. We have a Palestinian twisty comedy and an intense political thriller drama from Egypt. You will also find the documentary SIRENS about the Middle East's only female metal band from Lebanon and a short film about late-night party people who twerk for Yemen».

You will also find the award-winning films THE BLUE CAFTAN, BOY FROM HEAVEN, MEDITERRANEAN FEVER, and HARKA, which have all won awards at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. You will also find the lovely animated children's film DOUNIA AND THE PRINCESS OF ALEPPO and a dedicated section on Kurdistan with the feature films NEIGHBOURS and the documentaries HOLY BREAD and UP TO G-CUP.
