Palestine – Everyday life under occupation
This year's focus on Palestine consists of four very different films . While they vary in style and genre, they share a focus on Palestinians’ everyday life.
Friday, March 12 at 7 p.m. we invite you to a conversation about Palestinian everyday life, and how film as a medium could convey the difficulties that the Palestinian population experiences during occupation.
Joining the conversation are Ghada Majadle, head of the Palestinian Territories-branch of the human rights organization Physicians for Human Rights Israel, Shahd Abusalama, PhD student focusing on the representation of refugees from Gaza in Palestinian documentaries, and Line Khateeb, head of The Palestine Committee of Norway. Moderator is Gjermund Granlund, head of programming of Arab Film Days.
After the conversation, the director of 200 Meters, Ameen Nayfeh, will give a brief introduction to his film. You can watch the film on our digital screening platform.
The conversation is a collaboration between Arab Film Days and The Palestine Committee of Norway.
The conversation will be held in English and streamed live on Facebook, Friday, March 12 at 7 p.m. It will be possible to ask questions in the comments section of the Facebook event during the conversation. The conversation will also be published on the website and on our digital platform.
